Super Thoughts from a Super Guy

Well, its that time of year again...a football fan's last gasp before things get real depressing. After Sunday, football will only give us the draft, for one brief weekend in April, and then nothing until August (at least there's basketball, but more on that later).

On a positive note, this year I really do feel like we are getting the two best teams in the league in the big game, which is more than you can say for most years (excitement of the game notwithstanding, the Arizona freakin' Cardinals? The Giants were by far the best team in the NFC last year, at least until week 2 of the playoffs, when they decided to crap themselves). We should be in store for a phenomenal game. The subplots are fantastic...the Saints playing for a rebuilt city and rebuilt lives, Peyton Manning playing for history. Here's a quick rundown of some of the players in the big game, and how much of an impact I think they'll have:

-Pierre Garcon/Pierre Thomas-Depending on the coin toss, one of these guys will be the first named "Pierre" to start a Super Bowl, according to the first page of a Google search I just did right now. Also, Thomas will have the better game.
-Reggie Wayne-Will be quieter than expected
-Robert Meachum-Will be louder than expected
-Dallas Clark-Won't shut the F up (metaphor)
-Jeremy Shockey-Won't shut the F up (not a metaphor)
-Jonathan Vilma-Should be better at this stage in his career, but will lead all players in tackles
-Scott Fujita-His name looks like "fajita" but sounds like "vagina"
-Joseph Addai-Will have a "Joseph Addai game"-12 carries, 5 rec., 86 total yards, 2 tds
-Dwight Freeney-Will make exactly one big play (but it will be big, or at least provide a spark)
-Reggie Bush-Reggie Bush=makes fart noises with my mouth
-Drew Brees-Has that thing on his face always been there? I feel like its new. However, he will throw for more yards than Manning. Unfortunately, he will also throw more picks.
-Marques Colston-Would be MVP if Saints won(who's going to cover him??), but...
-Austin Collie-Will score deciding touchdown, and...
-Peyton Manning-Will win MVP, because...
-The Indianapolis Colts-Will win 34-27

(Sorry Greg, Ryan, and brethren)

  1. Yeah, Colts. What if you're wrong though? Wouldn't be the right way to kick off the blog. Ballsy to make a prediction.
